Spring Break Day 1
As alumni, it feels great to be back with our Warhawk family once again.
Today the Warhawks started off with an early morning in order to head to Milwaukee for a flight down to Orlando, Florida. We arrived at the airport early and were able to spend a few hours before the flight talking, playing games, and taking a lot of pre-flight pictures.
The flight went well and we arrived in the incredible warmth of a high 80-degree day. Some of us took a little time to get used to the heat, considering Wisconsin is just a little bit colder this time of year (and by a little bit I mean 40 degrees colder). However, after shedding a few layers of warmer gear everyone was thoroughly enjoying the change in climate.
Sadly, the flight had been delayed thirty minutes so we had to hurry on to get a quick dinner before checking into our hotel and splitting up between getting groceries for the week and practice. At practice the change of weather was both enjoyable and tough as both the girls and boys were able to play in the warmth under the lights with slight humidity. The players quickly adjusted to the change of weather and soon the team was looking very good as they played singles and doubles points and drills to prepare for their respective matches tomorrow.
Afterwards, everyone returned back to the condos to spend some time having fun doing various activities before heading to bed for a good night’s sleep.
All in all it was a great day and a wonderful start to the spring break trip. I cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings.
